Abdullah Almaatouq

Abdullah Almaatouq is currently a Research Specialist at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He received his bachelor degree from the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at Southampton University in the United Kingdom. During his studies, he worked on a client-to-client trading platform that employs collaborative filtering methods to produce recommendations, and statistical insights using opinion-mining techniques from Twitter.

Since joining CCES, he has been working on the Cyber Security Initiative project (CSI), where he investigates the possibility of distinguishing anomalies related to intrusions from those related to other factors. Abdullah’s research interests include machine learning, data mining, statistical computations algorithms, game theory,  network theory and cyber security.
